Sixty Six Dental is supporting Mouth Cancer Action month this November. This is a really important cause to us, and for this whole month we offer a free oral cancer screening service. If you are worried about a lump, bump or an ulcer, a red or white patch in your mouth that has been present for 2-3 weeks then please give us a call. Usually it is nothing to be concerned about, but it is important to get it checked. Call us on 01730 263092 to book a free appointment with one of our lovely dentists Dr Adam Jones and Dr Debbie Lloyd today.
We wanted to thank all the marvellous bakers and our lovely patients who helped us raise £125.39 at our Macmillan Cake-Away Day. The naughty but nice treats included Red Velvet Cake, Tiramisu cake and Rice Crispy Cakes to name a few. So it’s a BIG THANKYOU from all of us here at Sixty Six Dental.
Are you the person who wants to stop smoking but can’t quite find the right route? Sixty Six Dental are supporting the Stoptober campaign this year. Smoking affects the teeth and gums too, we wanted to take part to try to help those who want to quit, quit for good! Pop in and chat to us to see how we can help you.
Children’s oral health is a priority for us at Sixty Six Dental. This August we are running a pre-school oral health campaign to raise awareness of the importance of tooth brushing. Our highly experienced dental hygienists Charlotte and Mel are visiting a local nursery in Petersfield. Parents are invited too!
We will hold a fun, interactive session to help educate the children about their teeth and the role of sugar in decay. We have models and an interactive sugar board and a fun ‘toothy’ game to play. The children will also get a goody bag to take home including colouring activity sheets, and crayons and a sticker. We think this will be a great way to help prevent little teeth getting cavities!
To support this Sixty Six Dental offer free children’s check up’s if a parent / guardian are a patient.
To support national smile month, Lisa and Charlotte recently visited Liss Junior School. They held interactive sessions with year 3 and 4 pupils to teach them how to brush their teeth effectively and to talk about which foods are healthy or not for teeth. The children have created posters to show what they have learned and these are displayed in reception at the moment. If you’re passing our door in the next month please come in and see their efforts – they are excellent! We now have the tricky job of picking a winning entry!
Sixty Six Dental is helping to promote National Smile Month 2017. This campaign focuses on 3 key oral health messages:
Brush your teeth last thing at night and on at least one other occasion with a fluoride toothpaste.
Cut down on how often you have sugary foods and drinks.
Visit your dentist regularly, as often as they recommend.
Our Dental Hygienist Charlotte and Dental Nurse Lisa will be visiting Liss Junior School on Friday 26 th May to help raise awareness around these key messages. After an interactive discussion on brushing teeth and sugary foods, we will invite the pupils to create a poster to show what they have learnt. These will be displayed in our reception area over the summer – please come and view them if you’re passing! The artist who creates our favourite poster will receive a prize of a family cinema voucher for four.
