West Meon Primary School visit on the 24 January 2012. The first EVER school visit for our dentist Heidi and hygienist Charlotte! The age group they taught were years 3, 4, 5 + 6 and there were 16 children per group. The aim in doing school visits is to raise awareness from an early age of how to manage your own oral health. The children were taught about oral hygiene and were disclosed so they could see the plaque on their teeth. Pupils all had purple tongues and it was a great laugh! They were then given a tooth brush and shown how to clean their teeth properly and received a goodie bag with lots of bits for them to take home including tooth brushing charts and colouring sheets to keep them busy on a rainy day.
