66 Dental

Sixty Six Dental is a family orientated practice who are passionate about what we do. All children's check ups are free providing that the parent or guardian is also registered as a patient. We are a fully private practice offering flexible payment options to suit your needs. If you are looking for a practice that will put you at its heart then you have found us.

Compliance

As of April 1st 2011 all dental practices were required to be compliant with the Quality Care Commission’s regulatory requirements.

In January 2010 the Care Quality Commission (CQC) took over regulatory control of dental services and gave all dental practices until April 2011 to meet new regulatory standards in 21 seperate areas as diverse as sterilisation, disability discrimination, fire safety and safe disposal of hazardous materials.
When in January 2011 the practice changed hands it was compliant in none of the 21 areas. After a huge amount of hard work behind the scenes by staff both old and new, significant disruption caused by a major building programme and very large investment in the new upgraded sterilisation suite, 66 Dental submitted for assessment, and are delighted to have been registered with no recommendations regarding further improvements.

Examinations

Your Continuing Dental Health is Our Priority

With regular dental exams we can monitor your mouth and advise you on how to manage any changes. At your exam appointment the dentist will:

  • ask you if you have any concerns about your mouth
  • ask about any changes to your medical history
  • check your mouth and tongue for any problems including oral cancer
  • do a BPE check for gum disease
  • check the teeth for decay, lost/broken/worn fillings, tooth wear
  • if appropriate, take X-ray images (radiographs) of your teeth to help with diagnosis

After the examination, your dentist will describe any necessary treatment and will give you a printed estimate.
