Sixty Six Dental would like to thank everyone for the messages of support and encouragement. Although Sarah Byrne didn't win Dental Nurse of the Year 2014 we hope you will agree with us that being shortlisted as one of the best Dental Nurses in the country is an achievement in itself. We are so proud to have Sarah as a member of our team.
As many of you will know Sarah Byrne, our lead dental nurse has worked at this practice for over 13 years. All the team at 66 Dental are thrilled to announce that Sarah Byrne has been short listed as a finalist for the accolade ‘Dental Nurse of the Year 2014’ at The Dental Awards. The big night is on Friday 6th June at the Lancaster Hotel in London when Sarah will find out if she has won. We hope you will join us in offering Sarah our very best wishes and wishing her every success at this prestigious event.
This is what our patients have to say about Sarah:
Best of luck Sarah - you should win with all your amalgam of talent - filling in for others, extracting all the fear and your wisdom bonds you to your patients. You wear the crown in the surgery so we're sure you will socket to them!
They might give you a plaque or some porcelain. I expect you will root around for something nice to eat - a tartar two. I hope the food pleases your palate. You are, under all that veneer, simply the best, dentined for the top. Good luck - fiona and katie Shires
I do hope Sarah will get the award. She deserves it. She looked after me when she worked with Tamara and she always did a great job. Her voluntary work in Africa certainly makes her stand out among dental nurses being proof not only of her professionalism but also her kind and charitable disposition.
Good luck Sarah, will keep my fingers crossed for you!

I cannot believe Sarah has been there 13 years - surely starting work at 10 was not legal?!! We have only had the pleasure of her reassuring and calming support since we have been patients of Adam's, but the entire Pelley clan send masses of good wishes and thanks for having her at our side whenever we are at 66 Dental.
Go Sarah!!!!
Veronica Pelley

On 27th March the team at Sixty Six Dental had their annual training update. We spent the morning revising what to do in a medical emergency. This included CPR training in case of collapse, choking, anaphylaxis and how to place someone in the recovery position. After lunch we reviewed our fire procedures and practised how to use extinguishers. We finished with an update on the current guidelines for cross-infection control.
Our staff trainer teaching Daisy (Trainee Dental Nurse) how to perform CPR on a 'child'.
Leo and Charlotte performing CPR on an 'adult' using the portable oxygen cylinder and the ambi-bag.
Adam practising the recovery position on Leo.
Leo demonstrating how to use the CO2 fire extinguisher.
Dear Leo and CharlotteThank you so much for taking the time to visit the Little School yesterday. My little girl was very excited and told me all about it! She didn’t grumble about brushing her teeth last night and couldn’t wait to fill her chart in. Thank you again for providing a very worthwhile service to our children.Kind regardsRichard
Sarah Byrne 66 Dentals lead nurse flew out to Uganda on Thursday 20th February. She will be spending the next two weeks helping to provide emergency dental clinics in outlying villages that wouldn't normally have access to dental care. This will be Sarah's second visit to Uganda! We can't wait for Sarah to come home and tell us all about her wonderful adventure. A HUGE thank you to all of the patients, friends and relatives who helped raise the £2500.00 necessary to pay for Sarah's trip.
On 20th February Sarah Byrne will be flying to Uganda with Dentaid to bring much needed Pain relief clinics to isolated villages that don't normally have access to dental treatment.
To fund this trip Sarah needs to raise £2200. She has managed to raise £2000 so far but still needs £200 to fund her trip.
